Still have to read this and related articles. But Kant’s Kingdom of Ends sounds like and strongly evokes a liberal society, as I think he intended. Until one realizes that what defines the human who is to be regarded as an end themself is the ability to generate categorical imperatives, a very different concept of humanity than most people’s including philosophers.
Yes, Ed. That will be a major theme of my piece.
