Even making allowances for politicians’ blabbermouthing …
… this is inane and the opposite of morality.
* I earn $100 for myself. But earning $100 for my employer is more important? And infinitely so?
* I do a good job mowing my lawn. But mowing my neighbor’s lawn is more important?
* I successfully find and court the woman of my dreams. But helping my buddy seek the woman of his dreams is more important?
But that’s not what I mean or It’s just a figure of speech, etc.
Sorry, but No. Professional politicians should speak accurately, Jane Addams did mean that, and there’s an important reason why clichés like that slip off the tongue so easily for some.
The “homeless” are some of the most helpful. Many dedicate large amounts of time to helping others. This includes women that will persevere through very bad situations including violence to provide aid and comfort to the unfortunate among us.
