On Sunday, April 19, I’ll be participating in a teleconference on this topic:
At a time when governments around the world have invoked the crisis as a legitimate reason to increase state power, we see despotic tendencies taking over across the world. A crisis like a pandemic makes the citizenry agree to almost anything to solve the problem, and it often paves the way for limitless ’emergency powers’ which more often than not continue even after the crisis. This ratcheting effect raises significant concerns with regard to the future of liberty. The panel aims to critically discuss the future of liberty in an increasingly authoritarian world and the road ahead for freedom lovers to continue to strive for rule of law, freedom, trade, and an open society.
Date: April 19th 2020.
Time: 7:30-9:00 PM IST (or 9:30 AM EDT and 8:30 AM CDT).
Hosts: Students for Liberty, South Asia and Centre for Civil Society.
Hola, dónde puede uno ver esa conferencia y si tiene algún costo de inscripción?
