Three attempts to sort out the new-style socialisms of this generation:
* Nathan Pinkowski’s “The Strange Rise of Bourgeois Bolshevism” (May 2020): “The task American socialists have set themselves is to achieve and sustain a culture of free self-creation. But this culture, the culture of individual autonomy, grows out of the bourgeois.”
* My “Young People’s Socialism” (February 2020). I identify eight sub-strains of socialism animating this generation’s adherents: anti-cronyist, altruistic, free stuff, centralized planning, communal, welfare state, environmentalist, emotionalist.
* TAS’s Waterfall course with executive summaries of Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Robert Heilbroner, Alan Charles Kors, George Orwell, Michael Harrington, Ayn Rand, and Ludwig von Mises (February-April 2020).
