Apparently mandatory for much Canadian journalism:
When reporting on something you disapprove of happening south of the border:
(a) If a Republican is in office, it’s because Republicans are bad.
(b) If a Democrat is in office, it’s because Americans are bad.
Meanwhile, people who still believe that CBC reports news would not know:
On Jan 20, the Covid death rate in the US was (9) half that of the UK (18), and less than Germany (10).
On Feb 25, the cumulative vaccination rate in the US was (20%), five times that of Canada (4%).
Oops, typo: That should have been US death rate = 9, not 19.
FWIW, Canada still has not approved cheap, fast, DIY contagiousness tests. Do the authorities not trust people with the knowledge that they are contagious or not? At least individuals are still permitted to own and operate thermometers.
And if our health care system is so good, why don’t we have a 92% vaccination rate by now, like Israel?
Made the 9/19 change. Thanks, Peter.
